Welcome to King’s Sutton...

A village and civil parish in South Northamptonshire, England, King’s Sutton lies some four miles (6.4km) south-east of Banbury. The parish includes the hamlets of Astrop, Upper Astrop, Walton Grounds and Little Purston.

King’s Sutton is one of the larger villages of Northamptonshire, situated at the far southwest tip of the county in the valley of the River Cherwell, which marks the county’s border with Oxfordshire. The village is roughly 10 minutes’ drive from junctions 10 and 11 of the M40 London-to-Birmingham motorway, which runs through the valley to the west, criss-crossing the mainline railway and the Oxford Canal.

Living in one of only two villages in Northamptonshire with a railway station, King’s Sutton residents can travel by train to London in just under an hour-and-a-half, Birmingham in under an hour and Oxford in under half-an-hour. Regular bus services link the nearby town of Banbury to other towns and villages in the area such as Adderbury, Deddington, Chipping Norton, Shipston on Stour and Brackley.

Besides excellent transport links, King’s Sutton residents benefit from local shops, a post office, a primary school, two churches and two public houses. These institutions, along with the wide range of clubs, organisations and activities operating in the village, are detailed in the “About King’s Sutton” pages of this website.
