Village Networks Community Minibus Hire

SNVB Community MinibusFor many voluntary and community groups, transport costs can make daytrips and outings too expensive to contemplate. This is where the Community Minibus scheme comes in. Made available for hire at affordable rates as part of the Lottery-funded “Village Networks” project, the Community Minibus is operated and managed by the South Northants Volunteer Bureau (SNVB) under a Section 19 Permit issued by the Vehicle & Operator Services Agency with all the necessary insurance, mechanical checks and safeguards. The SNVB’s part-time drivers are MiDAS-trained and CRB-checked.

Voluntary, community and charitable groups, as well as schools and public/statutory bodies, can apply to SNVB for membership of the Community Minibus scheme. Here are the details:

  • SNVB’s Community Minibus has 16 passenger seats, all with seatbelts
  • It is equipped with a first aid kit and fire extinguishers
  • Hire of the Community Minibus includes SNVB’s MiDAS-trained driver
  • Registered membership of the Community Minibus scheme is required as part of the operating permit
  • Voluntary, community and charitable groups, as well as schools and public/statutory bodies can apply
  • The Community Minibus cannot be hired by commercial/profit-making groups or hired for activities (or as part of activities) that are profit-making
  • The Community Minibus is unable to carry passengers in wheelchairs and is not equipped with a passenger lift
