King’s Sutton Youth Club

King’s Sutton Youth Club is open to anyone of 18 years or under who attends a secondary school. The club meets every Sunday evening during the school term at the Millennium Memorial Hall, 18:00-20:00.

Entry is just £1.00 per person, per session.

The youth club is intended for young people to meet, socialise and have fun. Snacks are provided, and everyone can use the kitchen to make themselves toast, smoothies, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. You can also cook fancier things if you like. (There’s a supply of baking ingredients and the leaders are always open to suggestions!)

As well as pool, snooker, table tennis and table football, there are board games, cards, and even dot-to-dot books and jigsaws for anyone who wants to do things quietly on their own. There’s also a sound system for connecting phones, tablets an laptops so you can stream music from YouTube, Spotify or whatever. And there’s a chill-out corner piled up with rugs, bean bags and mood lighting that is very popular.

The club is very laid back so you can do your own thing. The main focus of activity so far is playing the games provided, using the kitchen and chatting, but we’re now introducing more activities for those who want them. Sometimes we play dodgeball, volleyball or badminton, and more sports and games are planned along with other activities to try. Everyone who comes can make their own suggestions, which will be followed up if the ideas are popular. There visiting arts and craft specialists, drama, and a band night with guitars, drums, and microphones too, so anyone and everyone can have a go.

Any adult interested in volunteering to help out occasionally (or those with a skill they’d like to share) would also be very welcome. For more information on King’s Sutton Youth Club, call 01295 810352 or 07753 709579 or contact us via our Facebook page.
